Harvey Non Electric T10 Meter Water Softener
Enhanced resin uses 30% less salt and water
Continuous softened water, without electricity.
The Harvey T10 is a British-made non-electric twin-tank water softener designed to protect your entire home from limescale. Its demand-controlled meter measures your actual water use and regenerates only when required, helping to reduce unnecessary salt and water consumption.
While one tank regenerates, the second continues supplying softened water.

Continuous softened water, 24 hours a day
The Harvey T10 is a premium non-electric water softener built for households that want dependable protection from hard water without relying on electronic controls.
Its compact twin-tank design allows one resin tank to soften your water while the other regenerates. When one tank reaches capacity, the system automatically switches to the second, so your home continues receiving softened water throughout the regeneration process.
There is no need to programme regeneration times, estimate your water use or connect the softener to an electrical supply.
Remove the cause of limescale
Hard water contains naturally occurring calcium and magnesium. As water is heated or evaporates, these minerals form the stubborn white deposits known as limescale.
The Harvey T10 removes these hardness minerals before the water travels around your home, helping to reduce:
- Limescale around taps and shower screens
- Chalky deposits inside kettles and coffee machines
- Scale build-up in boilers and heating systems
- Marks on bathroom and kitchen surfaces
- The amount of detergent, shampoo and cleaning product required
With softened water throughout the property, bathrooms are easier to clean, soaps lather more effectively and appliances are better protected against hard-water scale.
Why choose a twin-tank water softener?
A conventional single-tank softener cannot soften water while its resin tank is regenerating.
The Harvey T10 solves this with two separate resin tanks. While one tank is cleaning and recharging itself, the second remains in service.
This provides three important benefits:
Uninterrupted softened water
You can continue using softened water during regeneration, whether it happens during the day or overnight.
Regeneration when it is actually needed
The system does not need to regenerate prematurely to avoid running out of capacity. It switches tanks according to the volume of water used.
No fixed schedules
There is no need to set a timer or predict when your household will use more water than normal.
This makes the T10 particularly useful for busy homes where water consumption can change from one day to the next.
Powered entirely by water pressure
The Harvey T10 requires no electrical connection and uses the movement of water to power its internal meter and control system.
That means:
- No electrical running costs
- No nearby socket required
- No digital display to programme
- No batteries to replace
- No settings lost during a power cut
Once the softener has been installed and set for your local water hardness, its operation is automatic.
Meter-controlled for greater efficiency
Rather than regenerating at fixed intervals, the Harvey T10 measures the amount of softened water your household has used.
A regeneration is triggered only when a resin tank has reached its calculated capacity. This helps avoid unnecessary regeneration cycles and reduces wasted salt and water.
Its enhanced resin is designed to use up to 30% less salt and water, helping to keep ongoing running costs manageable.
High-flow performance for modern homes
With a flow rate of up to 60 litres per minute, the Harvey T10 is designed to maintain strong water delivery in homes with modern plumbing and heating systems.
It is suitable for use with:
- Combination boilers
- Unvented hot-water cylinders
- Pressurised plumbing systems
- Homes where several outlets may be used at once
The correct installation kit and pipe size should be selected according to your property’s plumbing.

The Harvey T10 gives you the flexibility to use either:
- Convenient block salt
- Traditional water-softener tablet salt
Block salt is easy to handle and load, while tablet salt can be purchased in larger bags and may offer a lower cost per kilogram.
Only use salt manufactured specifically for water softeners.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does the Harvey T10 need electricity?
No. The T10 is powered by water pressure and does not require a plug socket, batteries or an electrical connection.
Will I still receive softened water during regeneration?
Yes. Its twin-tank design allows one tank to remain in service while the other regenerates, providing an uninterrupted supply of softened water.
Does it regenerate every night?
No. The T10 measures actual water use and regenerates when a tank has reached its capacity rather than following a fixed daily schedule.
Can it use block salt?
Yes. The Harvey T10 can operate with either block salt or water-softener tablet salt.
Is it suitable for a combination boiler?
Yes. Its flow rate of up to 60 litres per minute makes it suitable for many combination-boiler and pressurised systems, subject to the property’s plumbing and installation requirements.
Does it remove existing limescale?
The T10 removes the calcium and magnesium minerals that cause hard water and limescale. Existing deposits may gradually begin to loosen, while new scale formation is significantly reduced.
Can I install it myself?
Installation should be completed by a competent person familiar with domestic plumbing and water-softener installation. The correct pipe size, bypass arrangement, drain connection and drinking-water provision must be considered.
Professional installation can be arranged through East Midlands Water.
Which fitting kit do I need?
This depends on the size and arrangement of your incoming mains pipework. Most domestic installations use either a 15mm or 22mm fitting kit.
