Shower Filter or Water Softener?

A shower filter is designed primarily to reduce chlorine and selected impurities from shower water.
A water softener removes calcium and magnesium, which are the minerals responsible for hard water and limescale.
If your main concern is limescale around your shower, taps and bathroom fittings, a water softener may be more suitable.
