What does a water filter actually remove?
It depends on the filter. Most reduce chlorine, sediment and the tastes and smells that come with them. Under-sink and specialist filters go further, reducing things like forever chemicals and fluoride. Each product page lists exactly what it is rated for.
Whole house or under-sink, which do I need?
A whole house filter treats every tap, shower and appliance, so it is the best all-round choice in a heavily chlorinated area. An under-sink filter treats the kitchen tap only, and is ideal if your main concern is drinking water. Plenty of homes run both.
How often do I change the cartridge?
Most drinking water cartridges last six to twelve months. Our System 40 runs for three years or 40,000 litres. Whole house media lasts longer still. We will remind you when a change is due.
Will a filter reduce my water pressure?
A correctly sized filter should not noticeably affect pressure. Whole house filters are sized to your incoming flow rate. If you have low pressure to start with, tell us and we will size accordingly.
