Does the Harvey Crown F15-3SLT need electricity or batteries?
No. It runs entirely on your mains water pressure, so there's no plug, no wiring and no batteries to replace. That means nothing to add to your energy bill and one less thing to go wrong. You just top up the block salt when it runs low.
Will I still have soft water when the softener is regenerating?
Yes. The twin-tank design is the key advantage here. While one tank regenerates, the other continues to supply soft water, so you get a continuous soft water supply around the clock with no hard water gaps mid-cycle.
Will it fit in a standard kitchen cupboard?
In most cases, yes. The unit measures 490mm (H) x 212mm (W) x 460mm (D), which fits comfortably under most kitchen sinks and inside standard base units. It's worth measuring your cupboard and allowing a little room around it for the pipework before you order.
How much salt does it use and what does it cost to run?
It uses just 0.35kg of block salt per regeneration, which is low compared with many timer-based softeners. Because there's no electricity involved, the only ongoing cost is the block salt itself, which you top up periodically. Harvey block salt is included free with your order.
Can I fit it myself or do I need a plumber?
